A Local Studio, Not a City Agency

Digital Nomad Studio is a two-person studio based on the Central Coast and in Newcastle. That is not a satellite office or a sales postcode - it is where we live and where we work.

It matters more than it sounds. A Sydney agency will happily take a Coast job, but you will be the client who is an hour and a half away, scheduled around the ones who are not. We can sit in your office, walk your yard, or meet somewhere between Gosford and Wyong, and then get on with the build. You deal directly with the two people writing the software, not an account manager relaying messages.

We work with businesses across the Coast, the Hunter, Sydney and the rest of Australia. Most of the day-to-day happens over email and video, which keeps the bill down. The conversations that need a whiteboard and a cup of tea happen in person.

What We Build for Coast Businesses

The Central Coast runs on small operators: trades and construction, aged care and disability services, tourism and hospitality, and a long tail of professional firms. A lot of them are bigger than the systems holding them together. These are the four things we are usually asked to fix.

Job Tracking and Site Apps

Quotes written in a ute, job sheets photographed and texted, compliance paperwork that lives in a folder in someone's boot. We build iPhone and iPad apps your crews can actually use on site - with the camera, the job list and the sign-off in one place, working offline when the reception drops out, and syncing when it comes back.

Internal Tools and Dashboards

Nearly every business we meet has a spreadsheet one person understands and a shared inbox nobody owns. When that person is on leave, the business slows down. We replace both with something built around how your team actually works, including the report you assemble by hand every Monday morning.

SaaS Products and Customer Portals

If your customers, members or families need to log in - to see a schedule, upload a document, approve a quote or check a roster - that is a product, with accounts, billing, an admin side and hosting behind it. We run our own products this way, so we know what it costs to keep one alive after launch.

AI, Where It Earns Its Place

Reading documents, drafting quotes, sorting the enquiries that come in overnight. We automate the parts AI handles reliably and leave the judgement calls to people. If AI is not the right answer for your problem, we will say so and build the simpler thing instead.

Proof, Not Promises

We do not have a wall of client logos, and we are not going to invent one. What we have is software we built, shipped and still support:

  • TeamRelay - real-time offline speech translation, live on the App Store
  • MatchTagr - tag match moments from an Apple Watch and build highlight reels, live on the App Store
  • Touchline HQ - a football club management product with fixtures, availability, ratings and lineups
  • PropertyBuyWise - reads building, pest and strata reports and pulls out the risks
  • 4thebadge - live scores, fixtures and tables across 15 competitions, in your club's colours

Download them, break them, judge the work for yourself. See everything we have shipped.

How We Work

Start small, see something real early, then build properly.

1

Discover

A no-obligation conversation - on site if you are on the Coast - about the business, the problem, and what a good result looks like. If a simpler solution will do, we will tell you.

2

Design & Prototype

A clickable design or a working prototype in two to three weeks, so you can hold the thing and change your mind before it is expensive to do so.

3

Build

We build it properly, connect it to the systems you already run, and add the testing and documentation it needs to be trusted in daily use.

4

Launch & Support

App Store release or go-live, then monitoring and improvements as the business changes. Support stays with the people who built it.

Common Questions

Do we have to come to you?

No. We are on the Coast, so we can come to you - your office, your yard, or a coffee somewhere between Gosford and Wyong. Most of the work afterwards happens over email and video, which keeps the cost down, but the first conversation is usually better face to face.

What does an app actually cost?

It depends entirely on what it has to do, and anyone who quotes you before understanding that is guessing. What we can be specific about is the first step: a working prototype on your real data in about two to three weeks, with a clearly defined scope, so you see what you are buying before committing to a full build.

Can you work with the software we already use?

Usually, yes. Most Coast businesses we talk to are running some combination of accounting software, a scheduling tool and a pile of spreadsheets. The job is normally to connect those rather than replace them, so people are not typing the same job details in three times.

Do you only work with Central Coast businesses?

No. The Coast is home and we like working locally, but we take on clients across the Hunter, Sydney and the rest of Australia. Being somewhere else is never a problem. If you are further north, we also work as an app developer in Newcastle and the Hunter.

Got Something to Build?

Tell us about the app, the product or the process you want to replace. Marco, our AI assistant, will take you through it in a couple of minutes and pass the details straight to us. We reply within two business days.
